Toofan FT 4 - 3 Joojeh 65 FC
29 Sept. 2024
Game 2 - Toofan FT vs Joojeh 65 FC
The second game of the week was played under completely different conditions than the first one… 94-degree weather in the middle of the afternoon…and boy was it hot!!
Toofan was in sky blue, reminiscent of Man City, while Joojeh 65 was in red…reminiscent of the Hyderabadi chicken dish their name drew inspiration from. Both teams were missing key players. Toofan was missing its stalwart defenders, Sal and Muhammad Tejani, while J65 was missing Adel Darwish, Murtaza Kazmi, and Hassan Syed.
J65 got the first goal with an excellent ground-driven strike by Sina, assisted by Amir. Toofan right away made a change in their attack, releasing young Muhammad Alamyan from defense into attack, and it paid off; a free kick just outside the box resulted in a scramble goal scored off a rebound by Hadi. 1-1. The trio of Hadi, Muhammad Alamyan, and Hafez were a constant threat. Joojeh's defense of Ehson Maleki, Jafar, and Dawood kept them at bay, but for how long?
Second half, and Toofan got a penalty from a corner kick that resulted in a handball on J65. Hafez calmly knocked it in to make it 2-1.
Toofan soon made it 3-1 with a fancy rabona pass from Hafez Golzarian on the left wing to an open Ali Abraham for the score. J65 needed to make something happen. The heat was getting to both sides, and exhaustion was noticeable as the players lost a step or two. Young forward Ali Kalaei made some fancy runs from midfield. One such run was from right behind the half all the way to the opposing goal, but the shot missed the goal narrowly.
Joojeh got their second goal through Wajih thanks to an assist by Fawad. Wajih slotted it home from the left. 3-2, J65 were pushing for the equalizer. However Toofan scored again, this time another set piece which was not cleared quickly enough, resulting in the ball falling right into poacher Ali Abraham’s feet who launched in his second goal making it 4-2 Toofan. Captain Amir’s changes and saw some fruit; J65 attacked and were awarded a penalty, which Wajih sent to outer space unfortunately. They did eventually get a goal as Toofan became a tad defensive to protect their lead. Dawood got his first goal of many in this league from an Ali Kalaei assist to give J65 some late hope. However, it was not meant to be for roosters.
Final Score: Toofan FT 4 - 3 Joojeh 65 FC
