Askari Football Club (AFC) is a semi-organized, invitation-only platform dedicated to bringing together members of the Shia Ithna-Ashari community in Greater Houston for regular soccer games. While AFC is not a registered club, it serves as a valuable space for community members to engage in organized soccer play, fostering camaraderie and physical activity on a weekly basis.

AFC traces its origins back to the turn of the millennium when community members in Houston began gathering for friendly soccer matches at various locations. A few tournaments were also organized during this period. After a brief hiatus, several of these founding members came together again in 2019 to re-establish the group, leading to the formal naming of Askari Football Club.
