Why do we need League Play?

League format will help members to play with the same team for an extended period thereby building chemistry and improving soccer skills. Moreover, the competition style games will bring purpose to every game played.

Do I have to participate in the league?

No, it is not compulsory however, every member of Askari FC is expected and encouraged to enroll in the league.

What will happen to our regular weekly games?

Regular weekly games will be suspended until the league is concluded

What if I do not enroll, can I still participate?

Yes, but there will be strict guest rules and guest participation will be subject to admin approvals. Captains will be encouraged to play only the players who are on the roster and registered in the league.

I can only come for one or two games, can I still register?

Yes. However you should contact the admins to find an alternate solution or pay the full fees and try and attend as many games as possible. We want as many people to be able to participate however please ensure your availability is communicated clearly with your team and organizers

Should I pay the full fee if I am only expected to join one or two games?

If you have concerns around fees, please reach out to the admin in private. Concessions and waivers can be provided on a case-by-case basis. No one should have to miss out on the league play due to the league fees.

Will you announce the game schedules upfront?

Yes, the league play schedule will be released prior to the league start date. Each team will play one game per week (TBU depending on number of teams)

What if I can't make the game time slot?

Games are Saturday Nights 9:30 PM or Sunday afternoons 3:30 PM. There is no alternate time slot for the field booking. If both teams are completely unavailable then the game may be resolved in a draw or reschduled to another day/time.

Will there be playoffs at the end of the season?

The league season is its own stand alone event and a trophy will be presented to the winner of the league. There will be a tournament following the end of the season featuring the same teams that will have its own trophy. Though seeding will be based on league performance, these will be two independent events.
