Game 1 - Guangdong Tigers vs Phantom Troupe

Dedicated to free souls, ones who win regardless of the worldly outcome, the world thinks they are dead, but they are alive, and we perceive not.

Saturday night, news still fresh, hearts in turmoil, we took to the field to be together in the opening of the 2024 fall Askari league. There are quite a lot of new faces in the league this year from IPF (Masjid Al-Rasul), and the league talent pool just shot up a few. Muhammad Ali Jaber opened the scoring in the first game (Phantom Troupe vs Guangdong Tigers), assisted by Captain Muhammad Rizvi. A ball into the box was missed by some defenders and landed in front of Muhammad Jaber, who slotted home the league's opening goal. Sadly, that would be the only goal on their side, despite some amazing runs and athleticism. Tigers came right back, with Kaashif taking over the midfield and supplying a pass from the right wing to Ammar, who finished making it 1-1.

Phantom had to respond, and they made some good runs with their studded wingers (Rizvi bros), while young phenom Elias Kaysi held the midfield together - watch out for him to do some damage in the forthcoming games. Tigers' defense was able to hold them at bay, Ali Mohsin, Ramis N, and Adam Alamyan, primarily with Ali Safdar contributing as well. Tigers struck again, this time a solo effort by Kaashif from the left in the bottom right corner of the net. 2-1 Tigers.

On the other end, Reza Rizvi made a brilliant attempt on goal, which was met with a solid save from Ali Safdar, who was playing in goal at the time. Phantom Troupe were just unable to finish their chances. After a throw-in that wasn't dealt with properly, the Tigers struck again. Ammar Farishta scored his second of the night making the score 3-1. Mohammad Jaber had a cracking shot on goal at the other end, which was saved well by Yusuf Albiagg.

The game ended 3-1 Tigers.
